MBA students use Legos to map business model

The Innovation Evaluation MBA course taught by Dr. Adesegun Oyedele this summer focused on designing, creating and innovating global business models for a real world business client. The student groups in the photos are working on a project for Schaefer Ventilation in Sauk Rapids, MN. The purpose of the exercise is to analyze the company’s business model using design and innovation techniques.

The specific design techniques in this hands on exercise are ideation, visual thinking, and prototyping. This is the first visual thinking exercise using Legos to map the client’s business model. The follow-up exercise will entail a reconfiguration of Schaefer’s current business model after developing more in-depth insight about Schaefer’s internal and external business environment.
