Mathematics

Mathematics is a pervasive discipline. Students in a wide variety of fields must understand and apply the concepts of mathematics to solve real world problems. In addition to offering major and minor programs in mathematics, the Mathematics & Statistics Department also offers general courses for all students and specialized courses for students in business, science, engineering, and education programs. We also offer developmental and general education courses.

Mission Statement

The primary mission of the Mathematics Program at St. Cloud State University is to provide a stimulating intellectual environment for the discovery, integration, application and communication of mathematical ideas.
