KVSC celebrates its 40th anniversary with a live broadcast from St. Cloud State's Atwood Mall.
KVSC is St. Cloud State’s educational, student-operated radio station. KVSC plays a diverse mix of alternative and progressive music along with eight daily newscasts and live play-by-play of St. Cloud State sports.
KVSC is one of ten public radio stations to receive funding throughy the Community Service Grant Program and is on the air 24 hours a day.
Any student can complete the free training process to learn how to be on the air and all students are welcome to participate by completing a step-by-step training process and successfully passing the training test.
Each spring, students apply for director positions, such as programming, music, marketing, news, sports, production, engineering, training, etc. for the next school year.
We often play music live at campus events, host an annual 50-hour trivia contest in February, produce weekly live music programming, read for the blind, and are active in campus and community events.
KVSC events include, Plug in Your Vote and KVSC's XXX Trivia: 30 Years of Trivia Lovin'.
KVSC also offers a variety of podcasts to download including An Unbroken Chain, the story of Henry
of the "Nazi hate and death machine in wartime Germany," the SCSU Economics Panel discussion on the recent wall street financial bail out, recordings of presentations done by Dr. Reatha Clark King on "Continuing the Conversation on Race: Economic Opportunities" and SCSU alum Brian Myres, Head of Sales for ING Direct USA, on the "The Power of Brand, Culture and Values in the Business World."
