Mass Communications
The mission of the Department of Mass Communications is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become socially responsible, professionally successful mass media communicators.
To achieve the mission the program provides:

A major and minor curriculum grounded in the liberal arts and sciences that includes core instruction in principles of mass media and society with appropriate professional training in the practices and techniques of the mass media institutions and industries;

A well qualified faculty committed to teaching, scholarship and creative productivity germane to the discipline;

A program with a solid reputation for excellence in providing professional education and service to the region and state of Minnesota;

An institutional ethos that promotes fairness, equality, diversity and ethical practice in all aspects of the departmental culture.
Mass Communications is made up of four programs and a Graduate Program.
