Company Overview:CommonBond Communities, Minnesota’s largest non-profit provider of affordable housing and services, has an opening for a part-time Intern in Social Media and Communications. This position assists or Resources Development Department in the professional communications, marketing and brand management strategies that present the CommonBond name and image to its target audiences.

Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ASSOCIATED TASKS • Design and produce agency marketing and communication materials using InDesign • Assist in implementing an annual communications plan that: effectively promotes the organization; educates the public; and maximizes fundraising efforts. • Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop key messages and incorporate branding in all agency communication efforts. • Assist in managing social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc) • Assist in managing a dynamic website, working with team to develop relevant and up-to-date content. • Write marketing and communication materials including e-newsletters, brochures, annual report, print newsletters and press releases MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • Experience and competency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) • Student completing a two or four year degree in Marketing, Communications or related program • Dmonstrated (cultural competency) experience working with populations of diverse age, income, race, national origin and disabilities. • Have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills • Be responsible, diligent, and able to be directed • Ability to work independently • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with the public • Strong organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail, accuracy and follow up • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Flexible team worker PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to sit for extended periods of time • Ability to type data into a computer • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds • Ability to complete filing • Ability to climb stairs regularly
