Company Overview:Looking to start a career in broadcast journalism? Why wait? Leighton Broadcasting and AM 1450 KNSI are looking for news radio interns interested in learning – then using – the skills needed to launch a career in radio journalism. Radio news interns will train alongside staff, focusing on research, writing, reporting and sound gathering. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to hear your writing and reporting on air. Interns will receive real world experience in basic newsroom and field reporting and writing as well as effective use of sound, story production and voicing techniques.

Responsibilities:Interns must be able to write clear, accurate news copy and prior experience or skill in writing for print or broadcast is desired. Knowledge of reporting fundamentals is also a strong plus. The right candidate is an inquisitive, enterprising self-starter who’s not afraid to work under deadlines, not afraid to ask tough questions – not afraid of much, actually. Hours are flexible, although the position would require some early morning and afternoon shifts.
