Company Overview:MIC is continually recruiting qualified individuals to assist us in our day-to-day operations. Our unpaid intern positions provide a unique opportunity to obtain practical experience while learning about the local international community and gaining insight into international not-for-profit organizations. Our intern program is committed to contributing to the professional and social development of our interns. On the professional side, individual programmers act as mentors, teaching their interns administrative and programming skills in addition to being a resource for career questions. The structure of the intern program simulates a real-life working environment. The interviewing process is the first in a series of steps designed to introduce our interns to a work environment. During the middle of the internship a mid-term interview is conducted to assess the internís performance and gain invaluable feedback about their experience. At the end of the internship, three evaluations are completed: a self-evaluation, an evaluation of the intern program and an evaluation of the intern by his/her supervisor. On a social level, we encourage interns to attend the various social events held throughout the internship term. In the beginning we hold a communal orientation where all of our interns meet one another and are introduced to the MIC staff. Around the middle of the internship term we host a potluck. Towards the end of the internship term we throw a farewell party in order to demonstrate our gratitude. These social events enable interns to connect with other interns as well as staff. We really encourage interns to see their experience as MIC as an opportunity to develop their professional skills and network with like-minded individuals.
