Company Overview:The Sabes Jewish Community Center is a multifaceted organization servicing the entire community. We provide programs and services in many areas including health & fitness, recreation, early childhood programs, arts & humanities, afterschool youth programs, day camps, special events, and more. JCC membership, programs and services are available to all regardless of race or religion. Our 195,000 square foot facility features a health & fitness club, theatre, auditorium, art gallery, meeting rooms, gymnasiums, and an indoor/outdoor pool. We are located near I394 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. We are seeking one, possibly two, Recreation & Sports Management/Youth Enrichment Interns. Candidates who are chosen will gain valuable hands-on experience in understanding the individual and social dynamics of recreation, leisure, play and sports and acquire the skills necessary to lead a wide range of services in a diverse community center setting. Interns will work together with our professional staff to plan, implement, execute, evaluate, and promote identified sports & recreation and youth enrichment programs. Internships will include direct experience with marketing, scheduling, public relations, program development, and budget operations. Interns will exemplify the high standards and values of the Sabes JCC and enthusiastically and positively fulfill the mission and vision of the JCC through excellent customer service, creative problem solving, decision-making and stewardship of JCC resources. The Sabes JCC will provide documentation of intern performance for class credit, if applicable. Letters of Recommendation will be provided upon request. Intern candidate(s) will be selected in late August or early September, with an anticipated start date in mid-September. The length of the internship will be determined based on program requirements and individual goals and aspirations of the selected candidate(s). This is a non-paid internship, but a stipend may be negotiated depending on program requirements.

Responsibilities:Education Requirement: The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a Recreation and Sports Management, Community Health, Education, Community Education, or related degree program, but all applicants will be considered.
