Mass Communications students in England

The Department of Mass Communications is committed to playing a role in the university’s global presence. In addition to the Poland program, the department also contributes to other study abroad programs. Professors Gretchen Tiberghien, Lisa Heinrich and Verta Bradley all have spent semesters in Alnwick, England, where St. Cloud State students live in the castle where the “Harry Potter” movies were filmed and immerse themselves in British culture. The department’s involvement allows mass communications students to take classes in their major while living in another country.

China

China

St. Cloud State University students soon will have the a new opportunity to experience another part of the world. Mass Communications Professor Roya Majid is working on developing student and faculty exchanges with Chinese universities.

She brought a group of students to Beijing in May 2005 to study the most recent economic and media reform in China. She also participated in a College-level faculty exchange with China Youth University for Political Science during Fall 2006.

She is currently working on an agreement with China Youth University for Political Science that will allow St. Cloud State faculty and students to spend a semester in China and provide Chinese students with the opportunity to transfer to St. Cloud State for the last two years of their undergraduate study.
