Dr. Niaz Ahmed is a tenured full professor at Saint Cloud State University. His diversified background includes 18 years of combined teaching and administrative services at the university level and 10 years of professional experience in the communication industry. Dr. Ahmed is a Senior Fulbright Scholar and has a Ph.D. in Communication Studies.
Dr. Ahmed's current research interests lie in the areas of international and cross-cultural mass communication, media independence and fairness, new media and convergence.
He is currently completing a book titled Democratization, Privatization, and Metamorphosis of Electronic Media in Asia.
He is also writing a novel titled The Tyranny of Emotions. This year, he has undertaken a new book project titled The Decline of Media Independence and Integrity in the U.S. and Around the World.
