Dynamic Website Development Policy |

|
Due to the increased functionality of Web sites developed with dynamic languages and the popularity of these languages, SCSU must address the development of Web sites utilizing these technologies. ASP DevelopmentDevelopment of dynamic content will be provided to St. Cloud State University departments and offices by Information Technology Services (ITS) or Center for Information Systems (CIS). If there are applications that you would like to have developed contact Chris Brown (chrisb@stcloudstate.edu) to set up an appointment. ITS and CIS will not allow the publication or utilization of an application developed by a third party unless:
Any application that does not "pass" code inspection will not be published on a SCSU server. If an office or department with dynamic content is found on SCSU servers and has not been reviewed, the site will be considered out of compliance and links to that site will be removed. It is the responsibility of the office or department to inform ITS or CIS of applications that are being developed and set up a review before publishing the site. Common development issues that could prevent a site from passing inspection include, but are not limited to:
Development ProcessDepartments and offices must communicate their development intentions with ITS or CIS, who will assess the project and determine the development timeline. Departments may hire a third party to assist in the development of their site providing the third party can prove their fluency in asp. An asp proficiency test will be conducted by ITS. Departments may provide funding for a third party who has successfully completed the asp proficiency test. The third party will work on the project but be overseen by a member of ITS or CIS. Any application developed by a third party will not be supported by ITS or CIS unless the development has been overseen by a member of ITS or CIS. |
