The Athletic Training Program is part of the Department of Kinesiology within the School of Health and Human Services. The athletic training program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The next comprehensive review will occur in the academic year 2021-2022. The current accreditation status of the program can be found at CAATE’s web site under the accredited program tab (http://caate.net/search-for-accredited-program/).

CAATE requires that programs must meet or exceed a three year aggregate of 70 percent first-time pass rate on the BOC exam. Below is SCSU's BOC Pass Rate Table (From CAATE 3/16/2015). This data can also be viewed at: http://caate.net/program-outcomes/#Pass-Rate

All applicants must meet the entrance requirements and be accepted/enrolled at SCSU prior to admission into the program. A maximum of 16 students per year are accepted into the program. The application to the major occurs during the Fall semester.

Students enter and progress through the program as a cohort beginning in the Spring semester. The Athletic Training Program at SCSU consists of five semesters of didactic and clinical education. While progressing through their educational experience, students will have the opportunity to gain clinical experiences at a variety of our affiliated sites within the greater Saint Cloud area.

The Athletic Training major has additional costs associated with completion of the program. For questions concerning the ATP or the additional costs please contact the Athletic Training Program Director at (320) 308-3079.
