China Task Force

Mission:

SCSU China Task Force mission is to enhance and strengthen the connections and partnerships between China and the SCSU faculty, students, staff and the greater community. The China Task Force seeks to contribute to the global learning and competencies of our learners through bridging and building relationships between SCSU and China.

In order to accomplish this mission, the China Task Force will focus on the following tasks during the 2006-2007 academic year:

  1. Organize and facilitate the implementation of a China Symposium on March 25th-March 27th for SCSU and the MnSCU system-wide organization.
  2. Seek to unite China efforts on the campus in various programs to strengthen and enhance  the awareness of opportunities for students and faculty. This will be accomplished through the development of a China Connections web page. Host site will be the Center for International Studies link.
  3. Promote the development and marketing of Chinese Language courses to a level that meets the rigor and criteria for the Foreign Language Department.
  4. Provide support and strategies to the Center for International Studies on avenues for recruiting students from China within all colleges at SCSU.
  5. Provide support and encouragement to faculty who organize study abroad programs for students to China.
  6. Provide support and encouragement to program developments and partnerships with universities in China.
  7. Increase and enhance Chinese studies and comparative perspectives within the curriculum for all students.
  8. Build connections with the local community, businesses and schools in the greater St. Cloud area for the purpose of promoting, encouraging and strengthening a strong Central Minnesota initiative focused on China.

Vision:

The China Task Force will be a leader in developing enriching and sustainable partnerships, programs and activities of excellence focused on China for SCSU and the greater St. Cloud community.

Membership:
