Concurrent Enrollment
A student can be enrolled in two different SEVIS-approved schools at the same time as long as the combined enrollment amounts to a full time course of study.
Full-time enrollment at St. Cloud State University:
Undergraduate = 12 credits / Masters = 8 credits / Doctoral = 6 credits
Who is eligible for Concurrent Enrollment?
A student can apply for concurrent enrollment if:
- The student is currently in valid F-1 status.
- The student will be enrolled less than full-time at St. Cloud State University.
- The student’s academic department at St. Cloud State University will accept transfer credit for coursework completed at the second institution.
- The student can provide official proof of course registration from the second institution’s Registrar’s office at the following times:
- Within 30 days after the start date of the current semester at St. Cloud State University
- Within 90 days after the start date of the current semester at St. Cloud State University
- The student must provide an official transcript from the second institution after the end of the semester.
Who is NOT eligible for Concurrent Enrollment?
A student CANNOT apply for concurrent enrollment if:
- The student has been suspended from St. Cloud State University.
- The student’s academic advisor does not approve the authorization of concurrent enrollment.
Important Points to Remember
- A student must allow 5 business days for the Center for International Studies to process their request.
- A student must be authorized for concurrent enrollment prior to the last day of the drop/add date.

- A student must provide official proof of course registration, failure to do so will result in SEVIS termination.
- A student must remain enrolled in all courses throughout the semester, withdrawing/dropping from a course without prior authorization from the Center for International Studies will result in SEVIS termination.
- A student must provide official proof of course completion at the end of the semester, failure to do so will result in SEVIS termination.
