Ethiopian Night - Saturday, November 23rd
The Ethiopian Students Association (ESA) is hosting the second annual “ETHIOPIAN NIGHT” on November 23rd, 2013. Last year, ESA hosted the first ever Ethiopian Night at St. Cloud State University and introduced the students, faculty and staff on campus as well as the St. Cloud community to the culture, the food and the people of Ethiopia. This year, ESA has chosen “Kibre Beal” as the theme to further showcase the infinite cultures and traditions of Ethiopia. “Kibre Beal” means Holidays in Amharic (the official language of Ethiopia). This event will show case the major holidays celebrated in Ethiopia; the histories, the meanings behind them and the tradition of celebration through various skits, poems, dances and performances.
The program will also include dances from various regions of Ethiopia as well as a fashion show that will display the different traditional clothing. ESA will also serve some of the famous and delicious Ethiopian cuisines that you wouldn’t want to miss!
ESA would like to invite you to join and experience Ethiopia like never before.
