Saturday, November 3, 2012
International Soup Luncheon and Open House, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Holy Myrrhbearers Orthodox Church, 601-7th Ave. S., St Cloud.

Come join us for the best lunch deal in town!! Six homemade soups from around the world will be served.  Suggested donation: $5.  So far, our menu includes Syrian lamb and okra, Russian Shchee (cabbage soup), Ribollita (vegetarian version), and Navaho stew (black bean and sweet potato).   A couple more selections will be added to round out our menu and provide something for everyone, meat eaters and vegans alike!  Try all six or stick to your favorite!  You will leave full and satisfied, no matter the weather outside!

At 1 p.m. Fr. Nathan will lecture on angels in iconography, an ancient art form used in Eastern Orthodox Christian worship, up in our worship space for those who are interested.  We will look at the distinctive Byzantine artistic representation of the Powers of Heaven, including angels and cherubim.

Handmade crafts and home-baked goodies will be for sale.  We will have some special desserts, including some Greek cookies from our festival pastry booth.

Start your holiday shopping.  Our bookshop, Narthex Books and Icons, will be open for all your gift giving needs.  We carry incense and charcoal, as well as some imported gifts and many other unique items!
