Passport to the World - Nov 11th
We, the International Students' Association (ISA), would like to cordially invite you to participate in "Passport to the World," which will take place on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 4 pm - 6 pm in Atwood Ballroom, Atwood Memorial Center.
"Passport to the World" is an annual event at SCSU that has taken place since 1999. The event is centered on a theme and is specifically geared toward children, however all ages are welcome. This year’s theme is "Around The World in 100 minutes". Each participant receives a "passport" to get a "visa" stamp from each country (booth) they visit, which they can carry home to remind them of their trip around the world. It is meant to show how people share the common experiences of family life, the world of work, expressions of faith, and recreation. There are also displays of cultural artifacts and performances of dance and song from all over the globe.
ISA is an organization for all students (international and domestic) at SCSU. The purpose of ISA is to present different opportunities for individuals to share one's cultural background with others. Our goal is to facilitate interaction and friendship and promote the welfare and interest of international students at SCSU. We hope to improve international understanding, foster appreciation of different cultures and represent its members' concerns to the SCSU Senate, the administration, and the community.
ISA organizes its weekly meeting every Friday at 5:00 pm in Granite Room, Atwood. ISA has also scheduled an open forum for student organizations interested in participating in Passport to the World. We strongly encourage a representative from your organization to attend one of these meetings so that we can share necessary information and answer questions about the event:
Friday, November 2nd (5:00pm) – Granite Room, Atwood
"Passport to the World" is "your" event as much as it is ours. Organizations and individuals interested in participating are encouraged to attend a meeting or at least one of the open forums and register to participate. We look forward to working with you.
