Greek Festival - August 18th
Holy Myrrhbearers Orthodox Church will be having a Greek Festival this year on Saturday, August 18th from noon until 3 p.m. (601 7th Ave. S ) Feast on lamb or chicken gyro sandwiches with all the sauce and veggies, spanakopita (spinach and feta cheese pie), and Greek salad.
New this year: Greek coffee to enhance your pastry choice!. Try a sampler platter with koulourakia (sesame cookie), kouribiedes (powdered sugar cookie), ravani (orange almond cake), and karithopeta (walnut bundt cake). There will be plenty of everybody's all-time favorite baklava, too!
Visit the market booth for gourmet food items, so that you can make your own Greek feasts at home. Invest in a Greek cookbook, pick up olive oil and vinegar for your next salad, and a new Greek T-shirt!
Games for the kids! Plenty of room under the tents! Come rain or shine, but hopefully under sunny skies.
