Thanksgiving Program
The Thanksgiving Program pairs international students and scholars with members of the St. Cloud area community for a one-time cultural exchange. The rewards are mutual for both families and students: participants grow in their understanding of others, compare holidays and traditions around the world, and enjoy the company of a new friendship, all while indulging in a delicious Thanksgiving feast!

Consider this opportunity to share your Thanksgiving holiday traditions with SCSU international students! More than 1100 international students come to St. Cloud State University from more than 80 countries. National statistics suggest that only 25% of these students will ever be in an American home during their time of study in the United States. By extending your hand of friendship to one or more international students this year, you can change that!
Whether your Thanksgiving tradition includes a feast with extended family and friends or you celebrate it as a quiet day alone, sharing this day helps international students understand how Americans give thanks on this traditional cultural holiday, while allowing you to the opportunity to meet new people and learn new things as well! No special arrangements are required to make the day special for one or more students. Set a few extra places at the table and invite students to help prepare the food, participate in your family’s traditions, and get to know the meaning behind this unique North American holiday.
