Arrival at St. Cloud State Checklist

  • Fall semester 2008 Check-in at the Atwood Memorial Center, Ballroom on Monday, August 18, 2008.

    All new international students will need to bring the following documents:

    • I-94
    • I-20 or DS-2019 (issued from St. Cloud State University)
    • Passport and visa

    The Atwood Memorial Center is located on 6th Street South. From 5th Avenue turn east on 6th Street South. Follow 6th Street four blocks to 1st Avenue. Campus Map

    Failure to check-in at the Atwood Memorial Center on August 18, 2008 may disqualify you from receiving the Academic and Cultural Sharing Scholarship which entitles you to pay resident tuition.

  • International Student Orientation

    Orientation is mandatory for all new international students (freshmen, transfers, graduate, exchange, and student athletes). Students must attend all orientation sessions unless instructed otherwise by The Center for International Studies staff.

    Failure to attend orientation may disqualify you from receiving the Academic and Cultural Sharing Scholarship which entitles you to pay resident tuition.

  • English Placement Exam
    Refer to the ESL Requirements to determine whether you need to take the English Placement Exam. The date and time of the exam is located on the Fall 2008 orientation schedule (coming soon)

    No admission will be allowed after the examination starts. You will need to present a photo ID (student ID card or passport) to take the exam.

    An Assessment Hold will be put on your registration if you are required to take the exam and do not take it.

  • Math Placement Test
    Refer to the Mathematics Placement Testing web page to determine whether you need to take the test. The date and time of the test is located on the Fall 2008 orientation schedule (available soon)

  • Medical Reports
    All students must send or bring the following immunizations/tests record to Health Services:

    • Diptheria/Tetanum (must be within the last 10 years)
    • Measles, Mumps and Rubella (must be at least one year after your date of birth)
    • Tuberculosis (bring results of prior mantoux testing, date of diagnosis and details of any treatment)

    A TB screening hold will be put on your registration if you fail to present the reports or have TB testing done at Health Services during orientation week. You will not be allowed to register for your second semester classes until you have provided Health Services with compliant dates for TD and MMR.

  • Purchase Health Insurance Policy
    Failure to purchase the health insurance policy before registering for classes will result in you not being able to register for classes.

  • Get ready for classes
    It's almost time for classes to start. Find out when and where your classes will meet. Enjoy your first day of classes at SCSU. Remember to contact the Center for International Studies if you need any assistance.
