Overseas Transfer Students
Transfer credits in your major
Upon arrival at SCSU, you will have the opportunity to meet with a professor from your intended major area of study. Typically, it is the chair of the academic department who will determine if any of your courses accepted in transfer will count directly toward your major area of study. Please plan to bring the following materials with you to assist in the transfer evaluation process:
- Detailed course descriptions or syllabi, including the title, edition, and name of the author of your primary textbooks.
- Examples of your coursework, tests or projects.
The chair of the academic department will determine if and how your courses correlate to St. Cloud State University courses. He/she will report the equivalency recommendation to the Office of Records & Registration so the information can be included on your degree audit report.
Credits in transfer that are not part of the liberal education program or part of the major program of study will display as elective credits on the degree audit. These credits will count toward the overall number of credits needed to earn a Bachelor’s degree.
Note: It is extremely important for you to attend the orientation program to obtain advising!
