- speaking
- pronunciation
- cultural orientation
- oral presentation
- grammar
- discussion
- computer-assisted instruction
- American culture
The American culture class consists of weekly outings to regional areas of interest and also includes participation in culturally based activities.
Special Features of IEC Instruction
- Small class size
Class sizes are small (6-12 students), and instruction is individualized.
- Tutoring
Specialized tutoring in all skills, including pronunciation,
is available for all IEC students.
- Computer-Assisted Language Learning
Computer-assisted language learning is part of our curriculum
every day. Students learn to read and send e-mail messages, prepare assignments
on computers, use interactive computer software, select and evaluate
Internet language resources, and participate in electronic discussions
based on cultural activities.
Students attending the IEC can expect 2-3 hours of homework per day. Classes run from 9:00 to noon and 2:00 to 4:00, with a two-hour break from noon to 2:00 each weekday. Occasional weekend outings are planned. While students are not required to attend, these outings often provide helpful insights into American culture. |
