Who: Faculty/Staff, Rec Center Members, Students
What: We are adding a fitness level to walking on the track. There will be signs posted on the bulletin board of various components to do while also walking. Participants can choose to do them or not and how often they will do them. Some of the components require some equipment. The equipment will be kept in a locked cage and opened every morning by the building manager or Recreation Staff by 6:00 a.m. and locked up every night. The equipment will be available when track hours are open. Equipment includes yoga mat, abdominal ball, spray bottle (disinfectant) and paper towels, and dumbbells.
Where: Halenbeck Hall Fieldhouse Track
When: During operating hours.
Monday-Friday 6 a.m. - 11 p.m.; Saturdays 9 a.m. - 10 p.m.; Sundays 12 p.m. - 11 p.m.
- Every day, equipment will be placed out for usage by the racquetball rooms. There’s a bulletin board where posters will be hung to display various fitness components and their movements. Equipment should be close to the bulletin board.
- Participants can choose the level of physical fitness they want to add to walking on the track. They can choose how many components they want to perform, how often, and how many repetitions.
- If desired, participants can download a fitness app onto their smartphone to enhance their workout. Some free apps include: Argus, Map My Fitness, Lose It!, RunKeeper, and many more.
- Participants use the track during operating hours, when it works with their schedule.
