Range Placement Process for MSUAASF Positions

Submit the following documents to Human Resources:

  • MSUAASF Position Description
  • MSUAASF Position Analysis Questionnaire
  • Current Organizational Chart
  • Memo from supervisor that includes:
    • Current position
      • Rationale for the request to have position evaluated
      • Description of the substantive changes in the position and how those changes reflect on the positions in the unit that are above and below this position
      • Explanation on how the changes came about
    • New position
      • Explanation of why the position was created and where the job duties came from

The Campus Evaluation Committee evaluates the position based on the documentation listed above. The Supervisor and employee are invited to attend the first part of the meeting to provide further information, if they choose to. The Campus Evaluation Committee recommends a range for the position and submits it to the Office of the Chancellor for the final range determination. Human Resources will receive notice of the approved range and will notify the supervisor. This decision may be appealed to the System Evaluation Committee that meets quarterly.
