Process for Filling Existing Classified Positions
When a classified position becomes vacant, Human Resources meets with the supervisor to inform them of the hiring procedures. Those procedures are as follows:
- Complete “Request To Hire Approval Form"
- Position is posted as required by the respective bargaining agreement
- Interview by seniority if there are bidders
- If there are no bidders, Human Resources completes “Vacancy Builder” to get list of applicants
- Applicants’ resumes will be reviewed by interview committee
- A reasonable number of applicants will be selected for interviews
- Selection will be made to hire the most qualified candidate
- New employee will be scheduled to meet with the HR staff to complete the necessary paperwork
