MnSCU Administrator Hiring Procedures
Administrators
should be selected based on their qualifications and organizational fit.
Equal Employment Opportunity considerations are required for all administrative
assignments including interim appointments. Administrators are typically
covered by the Personnel Plan for Administrators.
To fill a position on a permanent or interim basis, the following process
should be followed:
- Complete the following and submit to HR
- Request to Hire Approval Form
- Position Description Form: MnSCU Administrators (if new or revised)
- Position Analysis Questionnaire Form: MnSCU Administrators (if new position)
- Current Organizational Chart
- Supervisor is notified of Request to Hire Form approval
- The Human Resources Director may suggest changes or modifications before the documents are forwarded to the Office of the Chancellor.
- Office of the Chancellor makes final range determination
- Supervisor is notified of range approval
- After receiving approval to hire and range approval, contact the Affirmative Action Office. You can find the Guide to Administrative Searches and links to forms at the Office of Affirmative Action website www.stcloudstate.edu/affirmative action/search. A search packet will also be provided by the Office of Affirmative Action
- Final candidate chosen
- Have the candidate complete the Unclassified Personnel Application Form
- Contact the HR Director and provide the completed Unclassified Personnel Application Form and resume for the candidate.
- The SCSU Human Resources Director will assist, as necessary, in evaluating the applicant’s education and experience for salary placement. If the salary request extends beyond the mid-salary range, the Office of the Chancellor’s approval is required
- Complete SCSU Administrator Employment Request Form
- If hiring on an interim basis and the employee is a current MSUAASF or MnSCU Administrator in a different position, then the Request for Approval - Acting/Interim Appointment form will need to be completed and approved
