Internship in Community Health

 Philosophy Statement Regarding Internships

The Community Health Program at St. Cloud State University is broad-based and designed to provide background so as to prepare students for employment in a broad spectrum of community health agencies. The internship field experience is intended to be the "capstone" in the Community Health Program. The internship experience provides the opportunity for students to place into practice the theories, knowledge, research and skills learned in the academic environment. Students will perform a variety of duties in a "real work environment." Students will interact with various staff members, health professionals, state and federal agencies and business entities while they assume the appropriate role of a community health intern. At the conclusion of the internship experience, it is St. Cloud State University’s expectation that student would be qualified to seek employment as an entry level community health employee.
