Internship in Community Health

 Other Regulations Governing Student Internship

Internship assignments may be terminated only after conferences with the Community Health Internship Coordinator and the assigned agency mentor. If a student is removed from the agency internship for disciplinary, nonperformance or legal reasons, the student will be referred to the SCSU Student Judiciary and will receive an Unsatisfactory (U) grade from the Community Health Internship Coordinator.

  1. Students participating in the Community Health internship shall be entitled to the agency's regularly observed holidays and operating schedules.

  2. In case of illness or emergency preventing attendance, students shall notify both agency supervisor and the Community Health Internship Coordinator at SCSU.

  3. Community Health Internships will not be granted at agencies where the prospective intern is or has been employed or volunteered. It is strongly discouraged that interns apply where parents or family members are employed.
