  1. Brief discussion/update on 4A question narratives was held.  But for Drs. DeGroote and Nunes, all others have completed their 1st drafts.  Drs. DeGroote and Nunes, being deans and their administrative responsibilities, have been somewhat slow in completing narratives for 4A questions they are responsible.  Each of them assured that they will have them completed by next meeting Dec 12, 05.
  2. Dr. Rothaus submitted the modified 4B questions to the committee and the copies of the questions along with listed strengths were provided to the committee members.  The questions were briefly discussed.  Some additional strengths were added under each of the questions.  Dr. Dorn sought further explanation on how to approach narratives for questions 15-17 under section 4B; particularly, how are our students gaining general education through research and scholarly activities.  Chair explained his view based on evidence from other self-study documents and his own opinion.  Others (Drs. Nunes and DeGroote) added additional points.

    Question 15: Sreerama, Ringwelski and Rothaus

    Question 16: Nunes and DeGroote;

    Question 17: Dorn; Banaian and Rothaus.

    Narratives for the above questions are due Dec. 15, 05.
  4. The committee suggested that we make efforts to collect research data from College of Education and Business, as they are not represented on the committee.  Sreerama agreed to meet with Pam Minden (Applied research director, COE) and Danny Bristow (Applied research director, COB).  Sreerama will submit the questions being discussed by the committee to each them before personally meeting them to acquire information about the research programs in these colleges.
