College of Education Dean’s Scholarship for Doctoral Students
Deadline:     February 1
Award:         $3,000
Open to:       Doctoral students admitted to a doctoral program.
Criteria:        1) Admitted to program
2) Full-time student
3) Demonstration of leadership (resume or list of leadership activities)
4) Letter of recommendation from a personal or professional reference
5) 1-2 page essay on the importance of leadership in education

College of Education Dean’s Scholarship for Graduate Students
Deadline:     February 1
Award:         $2,500
Open to:       Graduate students admitted to a graduate program.
Criteria:        1) Full-time student
2) Demonstration of leadership (resume or list of leadership activities)
3) Letter of recommendation from a personal or professional reference
4) 1-2 page essay- the importance of leadership in education

Conway, Deuth & Schmiesing, PLLP Building Hope Scholarship
In conjunction with Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity
Deadline:     February 15
Award:         $1,000 (in two increments during service period)
Open to:       SCSU students accepted to or enrolled in a graduate program.
Criteria:        1) Interested in serving as Habitat Resource Assistant
2) Must agree to provide 100 service hours to Central MN Habitat for Humanity

Excellence in Leadership/Dennis Thayer Award
Deadline:     January 27
Award:         $500
Open to:       Selected from students who are part of the Excellence in Leadership Program.
Criteria:        1) Current SCSU students who have earned at least 92 credits by the end of fall semester; graduate students must have earned at least 18 credits
2) Demonstrated leadership
3) Minimum GPA of 2.75/3.5 grad
4) Three letters of recommendation

Graduate Dean’s Distinction Scholarship
Deadline:     March 15
Award:         $2,000
Open to:       Newly admitted graduate students who are U.S. citizens or residents and will begin their program in the fall semester.
Criteria:        1) Overall baccalaureate GPA of 3.5 or better
2) Enrolled for at least 9 graduate credits for each semester the scholarship is awarded

Imbra-Steffens Scholarship for Women in Higher Education Administration
Deadline:     February 1
Award:         $1,000
Open to:       Graduate students enrolled in the Higher Education Administration M.S. or Ed.D. program.
Criteria:        1) GPA 3.5
2) Female graduate student who is admitted and enrolled in the M.S. or Ed.D. program in Higher Education Administration
3) A well-developed plan to establish or continue a career in Higher Education Administration, as described in an essay to be submitted with the scholarship application
4) Full-time student (Ed.D.—6 cr., M.S.—9 cr.)

Karen Thompson/Sharon Kowalski Scholarship
Deadline:     April 14
Award:         $500
Open to:       All SCSU students
Criteria:        Student whose actions most emulate the dedication and commitment of Karen Thompson and Sharon Kowalski to never giving up the struggle against heterosexism, homophobia, ableism and all other forms of oppression.

Award:         $500
Open to:       Students of American Indian ancestry.
Criteria:        1) Financial need
2) Involvement in campus organizations

Non-Traditional Student Endowed Scholarship
Deadline:     February 15
Award:         $500
Open to:       Full or part-time students 25 years of age or older, seeking a career change or upward mobility in their present career.
Criteria:        1) Demonstration of commitment to equal employment  opportunity
2) Financial need is a major consideration

Pamela Weiss Memorial Scholarship
Deadline:     December 1 and July 15
Award:         $1,000
Open to:       Students in the early stages of recovery.  Sobriety of at least six months.
Criteria:        1) Six months or more of sobriety
2) GPA of 3.0 or better
3) Two letters of reference regarding recovery and personal character
4) A written personal statement about journey and struggle to obtain sobriety and goals for attending school

Patricia Nemec Endowed Scholarship
Deadline:     March 15
Award:         Varies
Open to:       Veterans of U.S. military service who are at least 25 years old with a minimum GPA of 2.75.
Criteria:        1) Preference given to students majoring in a program of the College of Social Science or the College of Education
2) Academic record
3) Financial need

Rich Murray Volunteer Service Scholarship
Deadline:     February 10
Award:         $500
Open to:       Undergraduate or graduate students who have demonstrated a record of outstanding community service while attending SCSU and who are making a contribution to the betterment of SCSU student life.
Criteria:        1) Must be an enrolled student at SCSU
2) Must be involved in community service during your time as an SCSU student
3) Part-time, non-traditional students are eligible.

Shirley Schrader Scholarship
Deadline:     March 15
Award:         Up to $1,000
Open to:       Women admitted to the School of Graduate Studies program who are 30 years of age or older.
Criteria:        1) Enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits per semester
2) Must be U.S. resident or citizen
