What’s Your Reason?

Practicing safe sex is important to achieve overall health and wellness, but what about getting tested for STDs?  How can you tell if you have an STD?  What are the symptoms of STDs?  Who should get tested?  How do I get tested?  Why should I get tested?  This interactive program will answer those questions and more!  By the end of the program, hopefully everyone will think of a reason to get tested!

Portion Distortion

Proper nutrition and consuming a well-balanced diet from all the food groups is important for any busy college student, but how much of each food group should be consumed daily?  This interactive program will help students visualize what a proper portion should look like and how to eat healthy on campus.

U-Choose is an educational based campus prevention effort that focuses on the reduction of high-risk alcohol use.  It is a 50-minute interactive presentation that utilizes empirically based theories and approaches specifically designed for college students.  Students will learn about why people choose to drink, standard drink size, how the body reacts to alcohol, campus policies and city ordinances around alcohol use, and tips to help them make more informed choices if they choose to consume alcohol.

Standard Drink Demonstrations

The standard drink demonstration is an interactive experience for students while learning about standard drink size and blood alcohol content.  All participants are given a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) card to aid in tracking their BAC.

Turn ZZZZZ’s Into A’s

The importance of sleep can sometimes be forgotten.  This interactive program will stress the importance of sleep and how it can dramatically affect a college student’s health and academic success.  The program will also help dispel some sleep myths regarding naps, pulling all-nighters, and the effects of caffeine.  Everyone will stay awake for this program!

Stressful to Successful

Too much stress can have a negative impact on academic performance and can create many problems! This interactive program will help students learn effective stress management tips, including relaxation techniques.  This program will also provide each student with campus resources they can utilize if they are experiencing any unwanted stress.
