7 Mistakes Job Seekers Make On-Line by Joshua Waldman

	Joshua Waldman is an authority on leveraging social media to find employment. He is the author of Job Searching With Social Media For Dummies, and his writing has appeared in Forbes, Mashable and the International Business Times. Joshua’s career blog, CareerEnlightenment.com, has helped thousands of readers each month get ahead using his job advice. Joshua is also speaker and trainer who specializes in helping job seekers gain control of their careers in today’s competitive economic and technology climate. He presents keynotes, trainings and breakout sessions around the country for students, career advisors, consortiums and professional organizations. The event is free and open to the public. Co-sponsors include: Herberger Business School Dean, Co-Curricular Experiences, Career Services, Alumni Association, and Student Government.

 

"Top Dog Challenge" at the Polar Plunge

	Date: Saturday, February 16, 2013
	Time: 1:00 p.m.
	Location: 400 Supper Club, 25958 Lake Rd, St. Cloud
	UMD (University of Minnesota-Duluth) has challenged SCSU to raise money for Special Olympics through the Polar Bear Plunge.  Create your own team.  Join a SCSU team already formed.  Pledge money to a friend or the "SCSU General Donation" account.  If SCSU raises $20,000, Herberger Business School Dean, Diana Lawson will plunge.  Help us meet this challenge – so Dean Lawson will take the "plunge."
St. Cloud's plunge will be held at the 400 Club on Saturday, February 16, 2013, from 1:00 until everyone plunges.  Buses will run every 15 minutes from Atwood Memorial Center to the 400 Club and return.  For more information about this event check out the website – http://www.plungemn.org/group/stcloudstateuniversity.

Hank Shea Ethics Program: The True Story of a White Collar Criminal's Road to Redemption

	John Motschenbacher is a very successful operations and IT management professional who has held many roles in his long business career. He started at Buca, Inc as a controller and after only 7 years he rose through the ranks of the company to be the Chief Information Officer. Then his desire to impress his co-workers which included the CEO had him falsify documents and use corporate funds for personal gain. Once convicted, John had to pay over a hundred thousand dollars and wear an electronic tracking devise for punishment. He is now a successful manager at a different company and will share with us his experience as well as what he learned from that situation. He is joined by highly regarded prosecutor Hank Shea who will help tell the story and answer any questions.
