News and Announcements

Student-run marketing organization from St. Cloud State University, Husky AMA, was ranked in the Top 25 among hundreds of collegiate chapters at the 35th International Collegiate Conference held March 21 – 23, 2013, at the Sheraton Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Specifically, the American Marketing Association of St. Cloud State University, or “Husky AMA”, received recognition for outstanding performance in membership, fundraising, and professional development events/activities. With the support of their faculty advisors, students set goals and devised strategies that resulted in (1) approximately 40 new member recruits, (2) nearly $10,000 in funds raised to support the organization, and (3) more than 30 professional development opportunities geared towards the growth and education of students.

Throughout the year, members had the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning experiences including: career skill workshops, fundraising, volunteer and community service work, networking, and case competitions. Annually, a new Executive Board is responsible for producing a Chapter Plan that integrates many of these components. Later in February, an Annual Report is designed to present the results of their plans.

The current Executive Board members for the 2012 – 2013 academic year are: Hannah Sanborn (President), Dan Brink (Vice President), Rhiannon Edwards (VP, Professional Development), Kalie Schuster (VP, Community Service), Alanna Caballero (VP, Market Research), Erick Mumm (VP, Membership), Beely Xaphouvong (VP, Fundraising), Ashley Barthel (VP, Communications), Megan LeMieux (VP, Administration), and Rick Johnson (VP, Finance).

Husky AMA is well known on-campus as the largest student-run organization and in the local community as a provider of reputable marketing services. Additionally, the organization is involved in many altruistic, philanthropic activities that support various communities.
