HBS Wins Top Dog Challenge
Friday, April 3, 2015
The Polar Bear Plunge is part of a year-round event presented by the Minnesota Law Enforcement to benefit Special Olympics Minnesota. Participants can receive pledge donations to jump into a frozen lake, with all money raised going to Special Olympics Minnesota.
As in the past the St. Cloud plunge was held at Pleasant Lake at The Waters Edge (formerly the 400 Supper Club).
St. Cloud State's Herberger Business School participated in a challenge against the University of Minnesota Duluth to see who could raise the most money for the Polar Plunge. This annual fundraising incentive is known as the Top Dog Challenge, and the winning school receives the traveling Top Dog Trophy to display at their school, as well as bragging rights.
The 2015 Top Dog Challenge was a close one with St. Cloud State's HBS plungers raising $6,115 compared to UMD's $6,042. For a second year in a row HBS plungers are proudly displaying the trophy (in the HBS Dean's Office, in CH118) and enjoying their bragging rights!
Thank you to all plungers and those who supported our plungers.
