Salary:$10,000 full academic year
In addition to the salary/stipend, both full-time and part-time graduate assistants are eligible for partial tuition remission based on appointment type.
Oversee proctored tests administered in SCSU Online Testing Center, including: • Administer online and paper exams in the Testing Center • Assemble paper exams for student completion • Verify student identity at the time of exam check-in • Utilize and consult the Online Proctor Request system to answer student questions • File paper exams accurately upon completion to ensure instructor receipt • Process requests for registration and distance proctoring • Assist with software and hardware troubleshooting Answer phones and assist SCSU Online students courteously and professionally. Pick-up/deliver materials from/to campus offices Ensure that online course listings are accurate and up to date
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Pleasant and polite demeanor, positive attitude, ability to handle occasional pressured situations • Experience with office equipment (phone, fax, copier, scanner and printer) • Ability to successfully manage competing priorities and timelines, complete tasks and seek help • Strong organizational skills emphasizing an ability to maintain neat and orderly files • Consistent ability to approach and document inappropriate student conduct during exams • Adherence to all FERPA regulations regarding confidentiality and privacy of student records • Ability to take initiative, work independently and problem solve. • Advanced computer and troubleshooting skills o Experience in a helpdesk or technical troubleshooting role is preferred o Experience with computer software and hardware troubleshooting o Ability to identify computer application updates, and compatibility issues with applications o Document and maintain technology related inventory, document and actively report issues o Identify and suggest solutions to technology related issues/ improvements
