In addition to the salary/stipend, both full-time and part-time graduate assistants are eligible for partial tuition remission based on appointment type.
The Graduate Assistant for Online Content develops content for, and helps manage online publications. A member of the University Communications (UCOMM) staff, this person supports institutional marketing and communications strategies and reports to the Director of Web Communications. Tasks •Develop content for online publications, including social media, OUTLOOK Magazine and stcloudstate.edu. •Write, report and publish news stories for online publications using tools such as an audio recorder, digital camera and video camera. •Create/adapt simple graphics. •Other duties as assigned.
•Bachelor’s degree in mass communications, journalism or closely related field •Admission to a program of graduate study at St. Cloud State •Excellent writing and editing skills •Experience with photography, photo-editing and Web-image optimization •Experience with videography and video editing •Track record maintaining websites and/or social media sites •Experience using Photoshop and Final Cut Express is preferred •Knowledge of HTML and CSS would be a plus •Experience archiving photos with detailed metadata would be a plus
