In addition to the salary/stipend, both full-time and part-time graduate assistants are eligible for partial tuition remission based on appointment type.
Responsibilities support faculty research which may include: - Exploration of theoretical foundations for research; - Problem formulation; - Application of social work values and ethics to research design and methodology; - Literature search encompassing review of scholarly literature (books, articles, media) on a specific topic; - Development of measurement instruments; - Gathering of data; - Date entry; - Data analysis; - Written reports for each component of the research process; - Understands social work ethics; - Other duties related to administrative and teaching support may be assigned. Work in this area will be completed under the direction of a Department of Social Work faculty member(s). Other duties related to administrative or teaching support may be assigned.
Required - A bachelorís degree from an accredited institution; - Full admission to a graduate degree program at St. Cloud State University is required; - Demonstrated ability to work with persons from diverse backgrounds; - Demonstrated organizational ability and attention to detail; - Strong written communication skills including clarity of ideas, proper grammar, and editing; - Strong oral communication skills including ability to express of ideas, clarify information, and engage others; - Competence in using Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook; - Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments; - Interest in developing knowledge and skills in research. Preferred: - Experience in program assessment, evaluation, or research activities; - Experience or knowledge of statistical software.
