Graduate Assistantship

Graduate Assistant in Office of Equity and Affirmative Action

Hours:

10 hours/week

Salary:$2,500
In addition to the salary/stipend, both full-time and part-time graduate assistants are eligible for partial tuition remission based on appointment type.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Equity and Affirmative Action Officer (EAAO) and the Office Manager, the Graduate Assistant will be instrumental in the further development of following areas: Organize and scheduling of multiple committees, note taking; Electronic presentation work: Work with EAAO on training and other presentations with multimedia content using current software and other media (i.e. audio, video); Podcast development to be used for informational and training purposes; Data/Statistical reporting: Continued work on standardizing forms of reporting for the department utilizing advanced computer program features within Access, Excel, and other data programs; Possible survey development and implementation; Some ongoing data input with Office Manager direction: Posting of notices of vacancy and ads in publications and online sites; search tracking checklists; and other duties to be determined.

Qualifications:

Qualifications: Bachelor degree in a related field (liberal arts, social sciences, education, management). Graduate must be fully admitted to a graduate degree program and eligible for employment.

Demonstrated Traits:

Desire candidate with computer/technical proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Prezi, etc.). Knowledge of web design and maintenance. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and demonstrate initiative and follow through. Must maintain high degree of confidentiality involved with this office.
