Industrial/Organizational Psychology (M.S.)

The Industrial Organizational Psychology master's degree prepares students to find solutions in the workplace using psychological principles to understand behavior and improve the productivity and quality of work life of employees at any organizational level. Psychological theories and techniques are taught and refined to best be able to work in employee selection, training and evaluation.

Students are trained in the core areas of I-O psychology as recommended by the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology.

GRE is not required.

Program Highlights

  • Cohort model. Theis program follows a cohort model where your class-work, thesis and/or practicum experiences will be largely shared with classmates. Students are only accepted for fall semester starts.
  • GRE. No GRE required. 
  • Applied learning. Numerous applied experiential learning engages students in applying concepts and often interacting with the business community.
  • Faculty support. Faculty and students actively support and participate in networking, including local and national conferences and meeting.
  • Culminating project. Students may choose from either an internship/practicum or thesis for their culminating project.

  • Experienced faculty. Faculty bring real-world examples from a wide variety of applied experiences they've collectively had in the I-O field working with client national and international organizations. 
  • High placement rate. Placement rate in their field for recent graduates is 90%.
  • Top 10. Ranked as a top 10 MS  program in the U.S. based on program quality, applied experiences, student and alumni perceptions, cost, and faculty-to-student ratio.
  • The annual I-O Guest Lecture/Speaker Series has featured both local and national I-O psychology practitioners from organizations such as Wells Fargo, 3M, Korn/Ferry International, PDI and the U.S. Navy.
