Competition for limited places in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program may require the necessity of a waitlist.

Post Degree Licensure Requirements

Full-licensure: Once the degree is conferred, the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapies (BBHT) has requirements for the states two tier licensure system (LPC/LPCC), including direct clinical hours with clients, supervision by an approved supervisor, passing the National Counseling Exam and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling exam.

Applicants intending to reside in a state other than Minnesota should consult their state licensure board for degree portability.
