Admissions Information - International

By applying to a graduate program at St. Cloud State University, you are taking the first step to opening your world even wider.

You will be considered for graduate admission based on the following criteria:

• Undergraduate and previous graduate GPA
• GRE
• GMAT (required of M.B.A. applicants)
• Statement of intent (PDF)
• Recommendations (PDF)

Graduate students are admitted based on the strength of their application materials. Beyond unconditional admission, St. Cloud State University also grants conditional and provisional admissions status. 

The first step is to complete an official application. You may:

• Apply online,
• Download application materials to fill out and return by mail, or
• Contact us and we’ll mail you application materials to complete and return.

To complete the application process you must include:

• a $35 nonrefundable application fee, submitted with your completed application
• three recommendation forms (PDF)

• one copy of applicant's official undergraduate and graduate transcripts
• statement of intent and objectives (PDF)
• GRE scores
• GMAT scores (required for the M.B.A. program)
• English proficiency test (required for applicants whose first language is other than English)
• Financial Information Form (PDF)
• any additional application materials required by your chosen program

Please familiarize yourself with the application deadlines for your area of study.

St. Cloud State administers the GRE and GMAT.

Start early as it takes time to acquire the documents necessary to complete your application.

An important note:
International students must attend full-time programs. International students on F-1 and J-1 visas cannot be considered for admission to part-time academic programs at St. Cloud State University due to the Immigration regulations. Examples would include the MBA, RAS, MEM and College of Education part-time programs in Minneapolis, Maple Grove and St. Paul, MN.
