Elias M. Andrade Junior's Internship
Elias completed an internship with Amsted Rail Global Headquarters in Chicago summer 2009. Amsted Rail is a multinational corporation with headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.
Elias’ internship involved assisting the senior human resource manager in updating the electronic profile of workers in their hiring system. He made several trips to Virginia where he interviewed workers of the Brenco Bearing facility. In Virginia he met with employees, read all the company's policies and researched a backup plan of how, where, and what the costs were for the company to outsource and save materials in case that facility became unable to produce bearings. Elias’ third assignment was to translate documents from English to Portuguese.
As part of his internship, Elias took two international trips to Brazil with the company's director of finances to interpret for them and Brazilians joint venture partners during business meetings.
