Welcome

The Center for Global Studies seeks to be the university hub for global education, cross national and international activities at St. Cloud State University.

The Center is home to the major and minor programs in Global Studies.  It also collaborates with the African Studies, East Asian Studies, Latin American Studies and Soviet Eurasian Studies programs. 

The Center also hopes to host lectures and seminars on global issues. Please click on the Events link for specific activities of the Center.

GLOBAL STUDIES STUDENT AWARDED HUMAN RIGHTS FELLOWSHIP!
Benita Kaneza, a Global Studies major has been awarded the Upper Midwest Human Rights Fellowship through the U of M. This fellowship will enable her to work with Ligue Iteka in Burundi East Africa, One of the lead Human Rights Organizations in Burundi. She says that "I am grateful to have been granted the fellowship and hope to make a difference in a country that greatly needs it. I would like to encourage anybody interested in Human Rights to apply for the fellowship next year."

New Global Studies Offered Summer and Fall 2008!

Intersession, Summer 2008

GLST 195: Global Society and Citizenship, 3 credits
This course counts as a Core 5 course. It is also required for all Global Studies majors and minors.

Fall 2008

GLST 195-01: Global Society and Citizenship, 3 credits
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 9:30-10:45 am

GLST 195-02: Global Society and Citizenship, 3 credits
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 12:30-1:45 pm

GLST 495: Senior Seminar in Global Studies, 3 credits
Monday, Wedensday, and Friday: 1:00-1:50 pm This course is required for all Global Studies majors and minors.
