Speakers Bureau

Speakers Bureau is an educational program desinged to raise awareness about homophobia, heterosexism, heterosexual privilege, GLBT history, religion, and how to be an ally. GLBT Services sponsors this educational program designed to familiarize audience members with the experiences and lifestyles of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people. The GLBT Speakers Bureau consists of SCSU GLBT students and allies, and St. Cloud community members who present in small groups to pertinent university classes and other such groups.

Speakers Bureau presentations involve panelists telling their coming out stories individually, then answering questions from the audience. Presentations can be broad-based in nature or tailored to the specific focus of the class in question, emphasizing the relevant issues.

If you are interested in arranging a Speakers Bureau panel, would like to join, or have other questions about the program, please contact the program coordinator at GLBT Services at 308-5166 or use our Request a Presentation form.
