Safe Space TrainingThe Safe Space Training is a training presentation designed to educate persons who serve the general student population. The training focuses on raising awareness of and developing sensitivity to issues faced by GLBT students and the ways in which trainees may better serve this population. The training involves the examination of one's attitude towards GLBT people and issues, expanding one's knowledge of the subject, and enhancing communication skills with regards to homophobia and heterosexism. After completing the training, participants will receive a "Safe Space" sign to display in their offices to inform patrons of their sensitivity and support.
If you or your office is interested in attending a Safe Space Training, please contact the coordinator of GLBT Services at 308-5166 or use our Request a Presentation form. |
