Welcome to the GLBT Peer Support Program

Peer SupporterThe Peer Support Program provides support for students who may be questioning their sexual orientation or gender, going through the coming out process, experiencing discrimination, or having other personal problems. The program also empowers peer supporters by giving them the opportunity to gain the skills they need to become educated and knowledgeable about issues concerning gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals.

How you cope with your sexuality or gender identity ultimately depends on your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and opinions. You may, at times, find yourself lost in what others want for you, instead of letting them and yourself come to terms with who you are.

The Peer Support Program provides a safe and confidential atmosphere for you to express your thoughts and feeling about several issues.

The program was developed to provide the support that GLBT middle school, high school and college-aged people need. Peer supporters are able to assist individuals because they have similar experiences and an understanding of the individual's situation.
