Diversity ProgramThe GLBT Diversity Program is a program that provides education and resources about GLBT issues for the international students. The program helps students raise their awareness of diversity in our society and learn how to make the spaces they work and live in more welcoming to GLBT people. You are welcome to include this in your syllabus and make it an issue that is discussed in class or class assignments. The GLBT Diversity Program basically is a one-hour program. Because most international students are new to the United States, we emphasize important terminology, for example, heterosexism, homophobia, privilege and oppression. In addition, we talk about the current GLBT environment in the United States and other countries. The content and time of presentation can be flexible to fit the needs of your class. This is the second semester we have launched the GLBT Diversity Program. Students who participated had a positive response to the presentation. The following is the response from students: It's a clear, understandable and considerate presentation. I hope it (society) will be more open to GLBT people. It's clear and easy to understand. Throughout all the presentation, I change my attitude for GLBT people. Very good presentation. The Bible says that being gay is ok. I mean God loves us as the way we act, not the way to feel. I will start to be a friend with homosexual. I am going to show respect and support to gays and treat them nicely. If you are interested in arranging the program or
