Become an ARM!
Serving as an Academic Resource Mentor (ARM) is a prime opportunity to assist incoming first year students in their transition to the University while developing your leadership and community building skills. We invite you to expand your world with this unique opportunity!
Basic ARM responsibilities include:
- Participating in ARMs training (training includes a one day retreat in mid-April, a summer on-line training program and one week of training in August)
- Participating in New Student Orientation Welcome Weekend (this is the weekend immediately before the start of classes in August)
- Serving as a student role model around campus
- Facilitating weekly meetings and contact with First Year Experience (FYE), Division of General Studies (DGS) or Honors students depending on your assignment
- Sponsoring activities for First Year Experience (FYE), Division of General Studies (DGS) or Honors students depending on your assignment
- Attending all ARMs staff meetings
Requirements:
- 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Completion of 50 credit hours or more by the beginning of Fall 2009
- At least one year at St. Cloud State University
- Availability for entire academic year 2009-10
Salary: $2,500 for the academic year

There are three steps to the application process:

You must send a single document (it must be either Word or PDF or Rich Text format) with BOTH of the essays explained in the PDF to Gayle Clark, at grclark@stcloudstate.edu. - Schedule an interview to be held between Monday, February 16 and Friday, February 27 by contacting Gayle Clark at grclark@stcloudstate.edu or 308-2941 between the hours of 8 and 4:30, Monday through Friday.
DEADLINE for all materials to be submitted (steps 1 and 2): Friday, February 6, 2009
DEADLINE for scheduling an interview (step 3): Friday February 13, 2009
Interviews will take place between Monday, February 16 and Friday, February 27 during regular business hours (step 3).
