Huskies First Four: Days

Welcome!

Register for Orientation!

Log in using your Star ID and password to pre-register for Orientation events, select an Orientation group of your interest and order your Orientation t-shirt.

This is the perfect time to meet people and get to know campus.

We know how important the first days and weeks of the semester are to students and their success.

We encourage all new students to continue their participation in Huskies First Four events to meet other students, learn more about St. Cloud State and find your way to connect with the Huskies community.

8:15 a.m.–2 p.m. International Student Advising & Reg. Day, Miller Center 122/ TBD by their dept.

Be sure to bring your SCSU ID card and check-in for Orientation to get your Orientation t-shirt, picnic meal ticket, personalized schedule and sign-up for service projects and Orientation events.

All new Honors students and their families are encouraged to stop by, reconnect with program staff and meet other new students! 

1-1:45 p.m. Family Farewell, Atwood, Cascade

Provost Gregory will provide farewell remarks at 1:15 PM and we welcome students and their families who are ready to depart to say farewell at this time. David McCandless from the Department of Campus Involvement will share information on the Fall Celebrate! St. Cloud State event, including Family Weekend plans.  Light refreshments provided.

1-2 p.m. Community College Connection Open House, Centennial Hall 366

All students beginning their careers in the CCC program are welcome to stop by and visit with your advisor. Ask last minute questions about classes, textbooks & financial aid. 

1-4 p.m. Walk-in Advising Appointments available, Centennial Hall 366/216

Students with questions about their schedules, registration or general advising questions can stop in to talk with professional advisors.

Students living on-campus will meet with their Community Advisor (CA) and have dinner at the annual Welcome Picnic. Meet on your floor for your required meeting.

5-7 p.m. Adult Learner, Student-Parent, Vet & Grad Student BBQ, K Lot

Are you a graduate student, veteran, student-parent or adult student learner? Join other students for a social and BBQ before Opening Ceremony. Orientation Leaders and professional staff will be available to answer questions about Orientation and help you feel prepared for the first day of classes. Children and families encouraged to attend. 

6 p.m. Commuter students will meet to “chew & chat” together at the picnic, Atwood Mall
7:15 p.m. Meet your Orientation Leader, various locations

All new students will meet their orientation leader and fellow students in their orientation group. 

7:30 p.m. Orientation Group Activities, various locations

All new students will meet their Orientation Leader, their guide throughout the Huskies 1st Four Days. Meet other new students, learn more about the orientation schedule & ask questions!  OL’s will walk new students to Opening Ceremony together. 

9 p.m. Opening Ceremony, Herb Brooks National Hockey Center

This is a student-only event where you’ll be welcomed by St. Cloud State Interim President Ashish Vaidya into the St. Cloud State community. Get excited about being Huskies!

1-5 p.m. Community through Diversity workshops, various classrooms in Stewart Hall

New students are required to complete this one hour workshop and we are happy to offer it as part of your orientation experience. This workshop will address important issues, such as sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, discrimination and racism.  

3-5 p.m. Community College Connection Orientation, TBD

All new CCC students must attend this important orientation session. Program advisors and faculty will be available to answer questions about upcoming classes and program requirements. 

4-5 p.m. Education Abroad - SEE YOURSELF [t]here, Atwood, Glacier 

Come learn about the education abroad opportunities available at St. Cloud State University.  Center for International Studies staff will provide a short presentation of opportunities and also be on hand to answer any questions students have about this awesome experience.              

We’ll be drawing for a $250 Education Abroad Scholarship!
