Huskies First Four: Days

Welcome!

Register for Orientation

Log in using your Star ID and password to pre-register for Orientation events, select an Orientation group of your interest and order your Orientation t-shirt.

This is the perfect time to meet people and get to know campus.

We know how important the first days and weeks of the semester are to students and their success.

We encourage all new students to continue their participation in Huskies First Four events to meet other students, learn more about St. Cloud State and find your way to connect with the Huskies community.

Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016 (Move-in)

9:30 a.m. Make-up Advising and Registration Day

This session is open to any undergraduate student, domestic or international, who has yet to complete this required program for new students.  At the end of an academic presentation, students will be able to work with advisors to register for fall courses.

Welcome Picnic

Students living on-campus will meet with their Community Advisor (CA) and have dinner at the annual Welcome Picnic. Meet on your floor for your required meeting.

5-7 p.m. Adult Learner, Student-Parent, Vet & Grad Student BBQ

Are you a graduate student, veteran, student-parent or adult student learner? Join other students for a social and BBQ before Opening Ceremony. Orientation Leaders and professional staff will be available to answer questions about Orientation and help you feel prepared for the first day of classes. Children and families encouraged to attend. Tickets available at the event.

6 p.m. Commuter students will meet to “chew & chat” together at the picnic

New first year students coming straight to SCSU from high school who are living off-campus should plan to attend this group meeting to connect with other commuters and upper class students. Free meal tickets provided at the event.

This is a student-only event where you’ll be welcomed by St. Cloud State Interim President Ashish Vaidya and St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis into the St. Cloud State community. Get excited about being Huskies!

Join us for a night full of food and activities in the Atwood Memorial Center!
Free food provided by Chartwells

  • House Party 101, sponsored by UChoose where all participants will receive either an airbrush pennant or tie-dye Tshirt!
  • Game Night, sponsored by the University Honors Program
  •  “Dash for Dollars” Game Show
     Students compete in wacky games and elimination games for a chance to win $500.

Other activities include, “Make a Name for Yourself” letter art, photo magnet frames, adult coloring books, and free Atwood Underground.

Community through Diversity workshops

New students are required to complete this one hour workshop and we are happy to offer it as part of your orientation experience. This workshop will address important issues, such as discrimination and racism.  Honors students will complete this workshop during their HONS 100 classes.
