This is the perfect time to meet people and get to know campus.

We know how important the first days and weeks of the semester are to students and their success. Mark your calendars to get a great start by participating in New Student Orientation August 20 - 23, 2015!

We encourage all new students to continue their participation in Huskies First Four: Weeks (Huskies Kick-Off) events to meet other students, learn more about St. Cloud State and find your way to connect with the Huskies community.

Welcome Weekend / Move-In / Orientation

Thursday, Aug. 20 (Residential Move-In)

Move-in New entering first-year and new entering transfer students. Specific times will be mailed to students prior to move-in.

Be sure to bring your SCSU ID card and check-in for Orientation to get your Orientation t-shirt, picnic meal ticket, personalized schedule and sign-up for

Provost Vaidya will provide farewell remarks at 4:20 PM and we welcome students and their families to say farewell at this time. Light refreshments provided.

All new students should attend to learn about the Orientation schedule, get introduced to life at St. Cloud State and learn campus traditions. Join us for fun and free prizes!
5-7 p.m. Welcome Picnic (students only), Atwood Mall

All students are welcome to join us for the Welcome Picnic. Students will receive tickets at check-in to indicate their reservation time. Students living on campus will eat with their residence halls; students living off-campus will be scheduled as well.
7:30 p.m. Floor Meetings (All residential students), individual residence halls

All residential students are required to attend this important floor meeting with your community advisor (CA).
7:30 p.m. Transfer, Commuter and Graduate Student BBQ, K-Lot (Herb Brooks National Hockey Center)

Join other students for a social and BBQ before Opening Ceremony. Orientation Leaders and professional staff will be available to answer questions about Orientation and help you feel prepared for the first day of classes.
9 p.m. Opening Ceremony, Herb Brooks National Hockey Center

All residential students walk to Opening Ceremony with their Community Advisor (CA). Commuter students meet at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. This is a student-only event where you’ll be welcomed by SCSU President Earl H. Potter III and St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis.
9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Atwood After Dark late night program, Atwood Memorial Center

The mentors in Violence Prevention program empowers St. Cloud State students to take an active role in promoting a positive climate and stopping violence.

Come dressed in your favorite “hero” costume and be entered to win prizes! Professional athletes, superheroes, presidents… all characters & heroes are welcome. Costume contest winners announced at 8:45 pm on the Atwood Mall. All participants receive a FREE water bottle courtesy of Metro Bus.
